Our mornings while staying at Rising Star Outreach were not dull. A walk in the adjoining village was all it took for me. In fact, I felt like a kid in a candy store. These pictures will tell you why.

| When these little kids saw us coming with a camera in hand, they immediately lined up for a picture. They were so cute! |
| I loved how a lot of the villagers wore these little ear muffs to ward off the cold. It was a frigid 75-80 degrees in the morning ;) |
| After hosing off the front porch in the morning, the villagers would decorated their doorstep with these beautiful chalk designs, indicating a welcome to those who enter. |
| This gentleman was waiting while the women collected water for the morning chores. |

| I saw these scissors painted on the wall of a building in town and thought, "oh this is the local hair salon". After seeing many buildings with the same mural, I found out later that it was a political symbol of some sort. |
| This woman was grinding some grain with a stone, I wanted to come in closer for a better shot, but didn't have the nerve! |
| This was the village grocery/convenience store. |
I felt so guilty taking pictures of these people while they were going about their normal day to day routine, but every single person was so kind and friendly, said hello and welcomed the photos. After I got home I heard word that someone was going there who lived nearby, so I printed out a bunch of pictures and had them deliver pictures to these beautiful and friendly people. I would think that those little kids who so happily posed for me would like a picture of themselves pinned to their wall.

I can still hear the sounds of early morning in the village - dogs barking, children talking, cows mooing, motor bikes passing by, water running at the "fill tap." Too bad you don't have a sound recording of that to play on your blog as people look through the pictures. That would be amazing!
Great pictures, Mommie. In spite of what you say, I still want to visit India. :D
