Photo Challenge: LEAST USED LENS

I hardly ever use my macro lens.  If I do, it's of flowers or bugs typically.  Since I don't enjoy being outside when it's cold, I decided to take pictures of eyeballs inside.  Using a macro lens is the most challenging for me.  It's not easy to get close-up hand held shots, so I used my monopod to help facilitate this.  It was fun to really "see" the color of each member of my family's eyes.  I have one blue eyed kid, two green eyed kids, and the rest of us fall in between there.

(click on each picture to see the iris detail.  IT'S SUPER COOL.)

We celebrated Morgan's birthday a week early since we will be gone next week.  You have to get back pretty far to take candid shots with a macro lens, so make sure you have lots of room!

Apparently, it's difficult to blow out two candles at a time.

My mother in law made  her famous birthday cake for Morgan.
