My son is on a mission in Denmark, no big deal. Hahaha! It is a huge deal and I can't believe how fast time flies. He has been there since June of 2012 and will be home next June some time. I couldn't be happier for him. He has grown as a person and has learned to serve others and love it. He is giving up two years of his life to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. I think that's a huge sacrifice for a 19-21 year old boy to do. He can't date, go to movies, be alone, wear street clothes (except one day a week), swim, or be like a normal kid for two solid years. He doesn't get paid. He doesn't get school credit for this. This is strictly volunteer. He chose to do this. We did not make him go. He wanted to his whole life. I am so glad he went, he is maturing in a way that no class room could ever teach. People ask if I miss him and I tell them I don't. I am happy for him. I love him like crazy and will be glad to see him again, but there is no other place I would rather he be. He is giving of himself at the most selfish period I believe in an adolescent's life. He wakes up at 6:00 every morning to study the scriptures for an hour. He prays, he plans for the day, exercises, showers and then he and his companion leave for the day and work. He has to be home by 9-10:00 p.m. I believe. He tells me how much he loves being a missionary. He loves helping people and he loves helping people find happiness. That's all he is trying to do. I believe as he does too, that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will lead you to happiness.
He wanted me to see his new European suit. I approved.
This face cracks me up.
