How I cheated
I am learning how to cheat a little bit with my photographs. This took about 20 minutes or so, I didn't time myself. My friend, Nan, who owned the puppies, and Thomas were behind the bale of hay trying to keep them from falling off. You can see Thomas' hand and green jacket in the original on the right side by the second to last puppy. I used the clone stamp for most of this and the blur and smudge tools for the rest. I burned the edges to disguise some of my mistakes as well as the "vintage" action. I think it worked out well.

Well aren't you clever? That was fun to see the before and after! Nice work, sis!
