got fish?

Have you ever heard the expression: "if you give him an inch, he'll take a mile"?  Well, this phrase comes into play with this post.
To fully understand this, you need some background information about my husband.  If you ever call him and say, "Tom, do want some apples?  My trees are ready, take as many as you like."  He will show up at your house with a ladder,  climb to the very top and pick every single apple on that tree and come home with 36 grocery bags of apples.  If you go to, let's say, Chuck-a-Rama, for their all you can eat buffet that he payed $11.95 for, he will get his $11.95 worth.  Even though he weighs less than most of my girl friends, he will eat more than most men that weigh twice as much as him.  If you say, "Tom, let's go to Alaska and fish for salmon.  There is a limit though as to how many you can catch a day." he will leave early, catch that limit, go again to fish for halibut.  (you may even see him juggling two fishing poles just to make sure he gets his limit) lets pretend you didn't read that by the way
I think you get the point.

They look so innocent, like nice mild mannered guys ready for a game of badminton or something.

um...maybe not so much on the badminton thing

If given permission, I know he would have tried to catch every salmon in Alaska.
oh dear, I think this may have gone to his head a bit

When he arrived in Seattle he called me and we chatted a bit.  I asked him how many boxes he was bringing home and he said four.  I thought to myself, "oh that is great.  He and John did great.  They each got two boxes.  I bet they are really satisfied with that."  When he got dropped off in our driveway John helped him unload the boxes and then John got in the truck to go to his house next door.  I said, "aren't you going to take your boxes John?"  John said, "no, I have four boxes of my own."
These boxes weigh 50.  pounds.  apiece.  uh huh.  yeah.
Now you understand my husband a bit more.  He was given that inch and he took his mile, in a very good way I must say.  He kills me.  be still my heart.
